Potato Cheese Bread Roll is a favorite snack in India. This crunchy roll made in 30 minutes has about 300 calories. It is made by frying boiled potatoes and fresh bread.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup boiled potatoes
  • fresh bread pieces 
  • Coriander leaves (finely chopped)   
  • 2-3 Green Chili (finely chopped) 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Cheese cubes
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder 
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala 
  • 1/4 tsp mango powder (optional) 
  • water 
  • oil for fry
Method:
How to boil potatoes :
  1. Add the Potatoes and 1 liter of Water in a pressure cooker. Make sure that all potatoes are completely submerged in water. If required, add more water. Also, the cooker should be big enough to hold all potatoes.
  2. The total water level with potatoes should not be more than 75% of cooker depth.
  3. After 2 whistles on high flame, switch OFF the stove. Do not open the lid of the cooker till it has pressure in it. Let all the steam go OFF on its own.

How to make Potato cheese Bread Roll :
  1. Put grated potatoes in a plate.
  2. Now mix salt, red chili powder, mango powder, garam masala, chopped green chilies and coriander leaves in the potato.  
  3. Cut the edge of the bread with the help of a knife and separate it. 
  4.  
  5. Take a little water in a plate and dip a bread in water, place the bread soaked in water on the palm, press it with the other palm, remove the extra water of the bread.
  6.  
  7. Now put 1 or 1.5 teaspoon of stuffing and one cheese cube on top of it. 
  8. Give and fold the braid and close the stuffing, while pressing all the way around. roll the stuffing in each bread and prepare the rolls.
  9. Take a deep and wide pan. Fill it with 30% oil. You can also fill it more.
  10. Heat it on high heat for 5 minutes. When it is hot, turn the stove to medium-high.
  11. Add the rolls to the oil. Fry them till they become of the same golden color on each side. It will take up to 3 minutes. While frying, turn it over so that it can cook from all sides   
  12. When it turns golden color from all sides, take it out of the oil.
  13. The bread makes its outer surface crisp. Serve the potato bread rolls with tomato sauce or coriander sauce.
Tips:
  • You can make this roll by adding something else instead of potato. For example, if you like non-vegetarian then you can add chicken also add Paneer Bhurji if you like Paneer and green peas.
  • Process potato and bread rolls and frying only when serving. By doing this the bread crispiness and the soft potato taste will be good.
  • Do not keep the bread rolls in the refrigerator. By doing this you will have to reheat them in the microwave or fry them again.
  • Frying again can fill the rolls with oil which will spoil the taste. 
  • Reheating in the microwave will cause the top surface of the roll to lose its crispness.
